Danica on the Coast at the Lighthouse
Danica on the Coast

Hi! Thanks for visiting my page. I am Danica Connell, sometimes known as Danica on the Coast. I am a vacation rental property manage and real estate agent in Destin/Fort Walton Beach, Florida. I'm married to Dan. We have two daughters--and they have "Dan" names too, haha. We are the Dan Clan from Alabaster, Alabama, which is about 30 minutes south of Birmingham. I am on the coast working most of the time, but I travel back and forth between working to be a wife and mother. I am a retired structural engineer. :-)

My beginnings on the Gulf Coast started in 2012 when I bought my first vacation rental in Waterscape (Fort Walton Beach). From there I grew to 2, 3, and then 4 condos in the same resort. I bought a condo in Sandestin to use to carry out my Waterscape business, but found it too far from Waterscape to be practical. I sold that and bought a house very close to Waterscape, which I still use today. During Covid (2020), I started managing a few condos in Waterscape for other owners (all this while working as an engineer). That grew quickly, so I gave up engineering and became a full time vacation rental manager.

During the last several years, I have had a lot of requests about buying property on the coast. I had been passing these referrals to other agents. I had thought about getting my real estate licensure, but not seriously. That changed in 2023, when I decided to quit thinking about it, and DO it! So here I am today, owning beachfront property, managing beachfront property, and helping you to do the same!!

I LOVE biking at the beach. I bike on Okaloosa Island (where the condos are located), Navarre Beach (west), and 30-A (east). My record bike ride, which is on a single gear beach cruiser, nothign fancy here, was 41 miles. On 30-A, I stop at all the local shops and eateries along the way, and the ride is just splendid. It sounds like a long way, but it is super relaxing and fun, and very easy biking. Remember this is the coastline-it's all flat! I typically only do this in Spring and Fall, or late at night, so as not to give myself heat exhaustion. :-)

I enjoy talking with people about the area, so if you have any questions, feel free to Contact Me. Don't hesitate to reach out if you think I can help you!
